Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Rough Road In
It's about 1.5 miles down a narrow dirt logging road to reach the water. Keep your head on a swivel for logging trucks — they use this road regularly and there's barely room for two vehicles to pass.
Canoe/Kayak Only
There's no real ramp here — just an unimproved patch of shoreline. Forget trailering anything bigger than a small jonboat. This spot is made for car-topping a canoe or kayak and slipping in quietly.
Virtually No Parking
Two trailer spots on paper, but honestly it's just a wide-ish spot near the water. If someone else is already there, you're out of luck. No overflow, no turnaround worth mentioning.
Weedy But Fishy
Shallow lake with heavy weed growth — run topwater or weedless rigs and you'll find smallmouth willing to play. The weeds can foul a trolling motor fast, so keep that in mind.
Remote & Peaceful
This is about as off-the-grid as Keweenaw launches get. No crowds, no amenities, no cell signal to speak of. If you want solitude and don't mind the bumpy drive, it delivers — but if you're looking for anything polished, head to McLain State Park instead.
