Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Rough Road In
The road leading into the campground has some serious potholes — if you're towing a trailer or camper, take it slow or you'll feel every single one. It's not impassable, but it'll rattle your teeth at anything above a crawl.
Dock Is Gone
The fishing pier was pulled out in spring 2023 and it's not coming back anytime soon. The shoreline is mostly grown up and tough to fish from the bank, so you really need a boat or kayak to make this lake worthwhile. That changes the whole equation for a lot of folks.
Tiny Parking Situation
Four trailer spots is all you get, but honestly this lake sees so little pressure that I've never had trouble finding a spot — even on holiday weekends. It's a small, quiet lake and you're not competing with a crowd here.
Small Boats Only
This is a one-lane ramp on a modest inland lake. Perfect for a 14-foot jon boat or kayak, but don't drag anything big out here. The lake itself is just big enough for some solid panfish and pike action without feeling cramped.
Midweek Sweet Spot
Even on Fourth of July weekend there are usually open campsites and the ramp is dead quiet. Midweek is practically deserted — you'll have the lake to yourself. If you want solitude without driving to the UP, this is one of the better options near Baldwin.
