Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
No Ramp Here
This is a carry-down access only — no ramp, no trailer parking. You're bringing a canoe, kayak, or wading in. If you're trailering a boat, look elsewhere on the Little Manistee.
Tricky To Find
Signage is minimal and the turnoff doesn't exactly announce itself. Pull it up on GPS before you head out, because you can drive right past it without realizing. Once you find the spot, there's decent parking just around the corner from the access point.
Steps To The Water
There's a set of steps leading down to the river, which is great for keeping the bank from getting trashed but means you're hauling your gear down on foot. A two-person kayak carry is doable but not effortless.
Beautiful But Remote
Gorgeous stretch of water in both directions — classic Little Manistee scenery. No camping nearby though, so plan this as a day trip or pair it with a campsite further out. The solitude is a big part of the appeal here.
