Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Carry-In Only
No ramp here — this is a bank launch for canoes, kayaks, and small boats you can muscle to the water. Don't show up expecting to back a trailer down to the river.
Dusty Dirt Road
You'll follow N River Road to the end, then take a DNR two-track down to the river. It's passable but dusty in summer and can get rutted after heavy rain. Not a place you want to drag a big rig.
Trout Opener Magnet
This is a go-to spot for opening day trout fishing, so expect company that last Saturday in April. Outside of that, it's rarely crowded — two trailer spots is about all you'd ever need most days.
Fast Current Launch
The water moves here. Getting a canoe or kayak in is straightforward, but if you're new to moving water, have your plan together before you push off. It's a popular put-in for short downstream runs on the Pine.
Quiet & Remote
This spot feels genuinely tucked away — pit toilet, decent river access, and beautiful scenery with almost no traffic. If you're looking for solitude over convenience, Skookum delivers.
