Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Tight Parking Reality
Six trailer spots sounds manageable until two trucks park crooked and suddenly you're down to four. On summer weekends, you might find yourself backing out and waiting on the road. If you're trailering anything bigger than a 16-footer, plan to arrive early or midweek.
Small Lake Charm
This is a quiet, out-of-the-way spot on a smaller lake in Lake County — not the kind of place you'll fight crowds. Bass, bluegill, and some decent pike are in here. Perfect for a jon boat or small aluminum; no need to bring the big rig.
Single Lane Patience
One lane means you're taking turns launching and loading. It's rarely a problem because traffic is light, but if you roll up behind someone who's struggling, you're just going to have to wait it out. Keep your launch routine tight.
Ownership Gray Area
The DNR doesn't have confirmed surface rights at this site, and ownership is apparently still being sorted out. It's open and usable now, but don't be shocked if access rules change down the road. Worth keeping on your radar if this becomes a regular spot for you.
