Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Two Spots, Period
There are exactly two trailer spots here. If someone's already parked with a trailer, you're basically out of luck — there's no real overflow area or shoulder to squeeze onto. Weekday mornings are your best bet for a stress-free launch.
Small But Deep
Don't let the size fool you — Switzer drops off fast. The ramp gets you into deep water quickly, which is nice for launching but means shore access for wading or bank fishing is limited.
True Backcountry Feel
No houses on the lake, no development, just woods. It feels like you stumbled onto something nobody else knows about. The trade-off is the access road is narrow and unpaved — not a place you want to drag a big rig to. Keep it to small boats and car-toppers.
Bluegill Gamble
The panfish are plentiful but tend to run small. You'll catch plenty of gills, just don't expect slabs. The lake heats up fast in summer for its size, which can make fishing tough once July rolls around.
