Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Rough Access Road
The entrance road is genuinely rough — think rutted two-track, not gravel. If you're towing anything, take it slow and expect to scrape bottom on a low-clearance vehicle. SxS and ATV folks love it out here, but a truck pulling a trailer is a different story.
No Real Ramp
There's no actual boat ramp and zero trailer parking. This is a carry-in situation only — canoes, kayaks, maybe a small jonboat you can drag down to the water. Don't plan on backing a trailer in here.
Spring Closure
The site typically closes during spring, so don't count on early-season access. Water levels bounce around a lot too — I've seen it high enough to paddle comfortably and low enough to question whether it's worth the trip.
Dam View Worth It
If you walk in on the wide trail, there's a nice spot overlooking the dam. It's a quiet little Game Area lake that most people don't know about. Great for an afternoon escape when you just want solitude, not a full-blown fishing operation.
