Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Tight Turnaround Area
The maneuvering space between the ramp and parking is cramped. If someone else is launching at the same time, you'll basically need to coordinate who moves when. Seasoned trailer backers only — this isn't the spot to learn.
South Wind Warning
Any meaningful south wind blows straight into the ramp. Keeping your boat under control at the dock gets awkward fast. If you see whitecaps from the south, have someone on the bow line ready to hold you in.
Weekend Parking Crunch
Only 18 trailer spots, and non-trailer folks love parking in them. By late morning on weekends it's a zoo. Get there by 7:30 or you'll be circling. Sunday mornings before 8 AM are dead quiet if you want zero hassle.
Entrance Sneaks Up
The turn off Hughes Rd comes up fast — easy to blow past it, especially heading from the Grand River side. Keep your speed down and watch for it on the right or you'll be making a U-turn with your trailer.
Ramp Itself Is Solid
Deep ramp with good surface — you can launch just about anything here without worrying about scraping the trailer. The single dock splits two lanes, one on each side, and it's in decent shape. Mid-lake location means you're not burning time motoring across to the good spots.
