Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Tiny Lot Fills Fast
Six trailer spots is all you get, and when the campground is full, there's basically nowhere else to put a rig. If you're not staying at the campground, get there early on weekends or you'll be turning around.
Dust And ORV Traffic
The county road runs right along the campground and gets steady ORV traffic. Expect dust clouds rolling through while you're rigging up, and it coats everything in your truck bed.
Single Lane, Small Water
One lane on a small UP lake — this is a 14-foot jon boat kind of launch, not a place you're backing in a 20-foot walleye rig. The ramp is basic and can get silty by midsummer.
Mosquitoes Are Brutal
This is deep UP woods, and the bugs from late May through July are absolutely relentless. Bring a head net and keep the truck windows up or you'll be donating blood the whole time you're loading gear.
Quiet Fishing Spot
What it lacks in amenities it makes up for in solitude. Fishing pressure is light compared to more accessible Marquette County lakes, and the lake is small enough to work thoroughly in a half day.
