Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Carry-In Only
There's no ramp here — you're hauling your kayak or canoe down a steep hill to the water. Don't even think about trailering a boat in. A small cartop is the biggest thing you'd want to wrestle down that grade.
The Hill Is Real
That hill down to the lake is no joke, especially if the ground is wet. Coming back up with a loaded canoe will get your heart rate up. Wear boots with good grip and maybe bring a buddy to help carry gear.
True Backcountry Feel
This is deep Luce County — way off the beaten path with no real amenities. No parking lot, no trailer spots, no facilities. But the tradeoff is you'll likely have the whole lake to yourself. Moose, loons, eagles — the wildlife up here is the main draw.
Navigation Tricky
Finding this spot takes some effort. Signage is minimal at best, and you're on seasonal two-tracks to get there. Have your GPS coordinates loaded before you lose cell signal, because you will lose it well before you arrive.
