Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Tiny Parking Window
Four trailer spots is all you get. If you're not there early — especially on summer weekends — you're out of luck. The campground crowd tends to claim the ramp area by mid-morning.
Flies Are Brutal
Late June through July, the large biting flies here are relentless. They swarm the second you stop the car. Bring a head net and move fast on the ramp — this isn't a place to linger during loading.
Small Lake, Small Ramp
Single lane, and it's really only suited for smaller boats — aluminum fishing rigs, canoes, kayaks. Don't try to muscle anything over 16 feet through here. The approach is tight and wooded.
Remote But Worth It
This is deep UP backcountry administered out of Muskallonge Lake State Park, so don't expect any amenities beyond a campground restroom. Cell service is spotty to nonexistent. The tradeoff is a gorgeous, quiet lake with solid fishing pressure-free water — if you know what you're doing with the perch and panfish.
