Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Shallow Gravel Ramp
This ramp is deceptively shallow. If you're running anything bigger than a small fishing boat, you'll need to back your trailer well into the water to get enough depth under the hull. Plan on getting your feet wet.
Single Lane Reality
One lane and 14 trailer spots — fine for a quiet weekday, but on a summer Saturday you could be waiting. This is a small Upper Peninsula lake, so the crowd is mostly locals and seasonal campers, not tournament traffic.
Gravel Surface Footing
The ramp is gravel, not concrete, so traction can get iffy when it's wet. A two-wheel-drive truck pulling a heavier boat might spin a bit on the way out, especially if the gravel has shifted after spring runoff.
Good For Small Boats
This launch works best for canoes, kayaks, and aluminum fishing boats under 18 feet. It's a peaceful Luce County lake without a lot of development — don't expect amenities beyond the basics, but the trade-off is you might have the whole lake to yourself on a weekday morning.
