Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Not a Real Ramp
There's no actual boat ramp here — no lanes, no trailer parking, nothing paved. You might be able to drag a kayak or canoe to the water, but don't show up expecting to back a trailer in.
Rough Access Road
Google Maps will try to route you down the ORV trails, which is a mess if you're not in a 4x4. Pay attention once you're close and stick to the main path or you'll end up axle-deep in ruts meant for ATVs.
Muddy Shoreline
The lake edge is soft and muddy, so even a hand launch means you're sinking in a bit. Wear boots you don't care about and expect to get dirty getting a small boat in.
Old Campground Vibes
This used to be a state forest campground before it got closed, so there's still a tiny dock and some remnants of the old setup. It's quiet and pretty, but it's basically ORV country now — expect trail traffic and not much else in terms of facilities.
