Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
It's Going Away
The dam is being removed summer 2026 and the pond will be drained. After that, the water won't be navigable and the land reverts to the forestry division. If you want to see this spot, the clock is ticking.
No Real Ramp
There's no formal launch lane or trailer parking here. You're carrying in a canoe or kayak, or dragging a small jonboat down to the water's edge. Forget anything over 14 feet.
Weedy And Shallow
Much of the pond is choked with vegetation and surprisingly shallow, especially late summer. An electric trolling motor will get fouled up fast. Paddle or drift — that's about all that works reliably.
Solitude Factor
This is one of those spots where you might not see another person all day. No crowds, no wake boats, no jet skis. Just you and the pond. That alone made it worth the trip for a quiet paddle or some panfish casting.
