Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Road Is Rough
Kurick Road is rutted and can beat up a low-clearance vehicle. If you've got a smaller car pulling a trailer, think twice — it's more of a two-track than a maintained road in spots.
Steep Hill Down
There's a legit steep hill to get down to the river. No actual ramp here — you're hand-launching canoes, kayaks, or small boats. Forget anything you can't muscle down the slope.
Tiny But Quiet
Only two trailer spots, but honestly you'll rarely find anyone else here. This is a put-in for people who know the Betsie, not a destination launch. If both spots are taken, you're out of luck — there's nowhere else to park a trailer.
Kayak & Canoe Sweet Spot
This is really a paddle access point for floating the Betsie downstream toward Frankfort. If that's your plan, it's perfect — quiet water, minimal crowds, and you're on one of the prettiest river stretches in Benzie County. For powered boats, look elsewhere.
