Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Tiny But Functional
One lane, three trailer spots — that's the whole operation. Fine for a 16-footer or a jon boat, but don't show up on a Saturday morning expecting to find a spot open. Get there early or plan for a weekday.
Bass Lake Gem
Canfield is a sleeper for largemouth in the summer and decent pike and perch through the ice in winter. Small lake, not much pressure, and the fish show it. Bring light tackle and enjoy the quiet.
Shallow Near Ramp
Water can get skinny near the launch, especially by late summer. If you're running anything with a lower unit that drafts more than a couple feet, take it slow pulling off the trailer and watch for soft bottom.
No-Frills Access
Administered by Orchard Beach State Park but don't expect state park amenities here. No dock, no fish cleaning station, no restrooms at the launch. It's a gravel road to a basic ramp — pack in what you need and pack it out.
