Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Carry-In Only
There's no ramp here — this is a walk-down access with steps to the river. You're bringing a canoe, kayak, or wading in. Anything bigger than a two-person boat is going to be a hassle getting down those steps.
Tricky To Find
Signage is basically nonexistent. If you're coming for the first time, have your GPS locked in because you'll blow right past it. The turnoff doesn't look like much, but there's a decent gravel parking area just around the corner from the access point.
Beautiful Float Stretch
The river in both directions from Fox Bridge is a gorgeous section of the Little Manistee — clean water, good current, classic northern Michigan river scenery. It's a solid put-in or take-out point for a float trip if you shuttle vehicles.
Peak Season Crowds
Summer weekends bring the most traffic, and during fall salmon runs this spot sees steady use from anglers. Midweek visits in spring or early fall are your best bet for having the place to yourself.
