Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Rough Road In
The forest road to get here is rutted and can be pretty punishing on low-clearance vehicles, especially in spring. Take it slow — it's not far but it'll rattle your trailer if you rush it.
Small Water Launch
This is a single-lane launch on a quiet inland lake — perfect for a 14-footer or a canoe, but don't show up expecting to drop a 20-foot walleye boat. The ramp is basic and the approach is tight with trees on both sides.
Parking Is Minimal
Nine trailer spots sounds fine until a few campers park their rigs poorly. On holiday weekends you might have to get creative. That said, Anderson Lake doesn't draw big crowds, so midweek you'll practically have the place to yourself.
Bass & Pike Lake
Good fishing for largemouth bass and northern pike. The lake is quiet enough that you won't be competing with jet skis or pontoon parades — it's a proper UP fishing hole with minimal boat traffic.
Cell Signal Exists
Surprisingly, you can get a Verizon 4G signal out here. For a state forest campground in Marquette County, that's not nothing — handy if you need to pull up a weather forecast before heading out on the water.
