Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Tiny But Functional
One lane and only four trailer spots — this fills fast if even a couple trucks show up. Best to arrive early on weekends or plan a weekday trip. It's really built for smaller boats and car-toppers.
Trout Water
Brocky Lake holds both lions and rainbow trout. It's a quieter alternative to Craig Lake or the bigger Marquette County lakes if you just want to get a line wet without the crowds.
State Park Access
Administered by Van Riper State Park, so you'll need a Recreation Passport on your plate. The road in is typical Upper Peninsula two-track style — passable but not exactly smooth. A truck or SUV handles it best, especially in spring when things get soft.
Seasonal Limitations
Spring can be tricky with high water muddying up the launch area, and by late fall access may be gated depending on park operations. Summer is your best window for reliable conditions.
