Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Tiny Lot, Plan Early
Three trailer spots is all you get. On summer weekends, if you're not there by mid-morning, you're out of luck — there's really nowhere to overflow park without blocking the lane.
Single Lane Courtesy
One lane means you're loading and launching on the same ramp. If someone else shows up, you'll want to be quick and efficient. Not the place to rig up while your trailer's on the ramp.
Good For Small Boats
This is a small-water launch on the Dead River — think canoes, kayaks, and 14-footers with trolling motors. Don't roll in here with a 20-foot walleye boat expecting a deep-water drop-off at the ramp.
Board Of Light & Power Land
The land is owned by Marquette Board of Light & Power, and water levels on the Dead River can fluctuate based on dam operations upstream. Keep that in mind — what looked fine last week might be noticeably different today.
Quiet Local Gem
This spot flies completely under the radar. Negaunee Township locals use it, and that's about it. If you want solitude on the water without driving deep into the backcountry, Forestville delivers.
