Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Carry-In Only
There's no ramp and no trailer parking here — this is strictly a spot for canoes, kayaks, and maybe a tiny johnboat you can muscle down to the water by hand. Don't show up with a trailer expecting to make it work.
Tight Turnaround
The access area is under an acre, and turning a vehicle around is awkward. If you've got a longer truck or SUV, you'll be doing a multi-point turn. Best to keep it simple and travel light.
Very Small Water
Green Creek is narrow and shallow — even a 10-foot jonboat with a trolling motor might scrape bottom depending on the season. This is paddle-craft territory. Spring runoff gives you the most water to work with; by midsummer it can get really thin.
Worth It For Solitude
What you lose in convenience you gain in having the place to yourself. It's a quiet little creek access off Van Riper State Park land, and you're unlikely to see another soul out there. If you're chasing brook trout with ultralight gear from a kayak, this is the kind of spot you dream about.
