Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Tiny But Peaceful
This is a small Upper Peninsula lake with only six trailer spots and one lane, so you're not bringing a tournament rig here. Perfect for a 14-foot aluminum and a quiet day of fishing — just don't show up expecting elbow room if two other trailers beat you.
Winter Access Setup
There's a stone mat right next to the ramp specifically for winter access, so you can get out on the ice without tearing up the launch area. Nice touch for a little lake — not every DNR site up in Marquette County gets that treatment.
Get There Early Weekends
Six spots fill fast on a summer Saturday, especially by mid-morning. There's really no overflow area to speak of, so if you roll in at 10 AM and it's full, you're turning around. Weekdays you'll have the place practically to yourself.
Clear Water Gem
The water clarity here is genuinely impressive — you can see bottom well off the ramp. Great for sight-fishing if the panfish are shallow. The lake stays clean and swimmable through the summer, which is part of why the locals are protective of it.
