Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Ramp Is Deceptive
Don't try backing a trailer in here. There's a rubber mat jutting out of the water at the base, and just past it you'll hit large submerged rocks that'll chew up your prop or hull. This is really a hand-launch spot, not a true boat ramp despite appearances.
Kayak Paradise Though
If you're paddling in, it's a gem. Small, quiet lake with almost no motor traffic. Easy to unload a kayak or canoe right at the water's edge and be on the lake in minutes. Pike are in here too — I've pulled them right near the launch.
Four Spots, That's It
With only 4 trailer spots, you're not fighting crowds — but you're also out of luck if even two other groups show up. Duck hunting season in the fall can eat those spots early in the morning, so plan accordingly.
Year-Round Appeal
Fall colors around this lake are stunning, and in winter the lake sees cross-country ski traffic. It's a surprisingly versatile little spot for a place most people have never heard of — just don't expect a real boat launch experience.
