Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Tiny But Quiet
One lane and just four trailer spots — this isn't the place for a big weekend crew. But if you're running a small boat or kayak, you'll likely have the whole basin to yourself on weekdays.
Not A Big-Boat Spot
The basin is compact and shallow in spots, so stick to jon boats, canoes, and kayaks. Don't plan on bringing anything over 16 feet or you'll feel like you're doing laps in a bathtub.
Lease Quirks
The land is actually leased through Upper Peninsula Power Company, so infrastructure improvements move slowly. The pier isn't DNR-supplied, and the overall setup feels bare-bones — no frills, no amenities, just water access.
Sunset Payoff
What it lacks in facilities it makes up for in scenery. The basin faces west, and on a calm evening the water goes glass-still. It's one of those spots you remember more for the atmosphere than the fishing.
