Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Tight Parking Reality
Only 6 trailer spots, and they fill fast on summer weekends — especially if campers from the campground are already using the launch area. If you're trailering in on a Saturday morning, get there early or you're blocking someone.
Rocky Entry
The launch area is rocky, not a smooth concrete ramp. Fine for smaller aluminum boats and canoes, but you'll want to watch your prop backing off the trailer. Wading shoes aren't a bad idea either — the bottom will remind your feet real quick.
Off The Beaten Path
This place is genuinely tucked away in the Marquette County woods. The drive in is on narrow forest roads with minimal signage — first-timers will want to GPS it ahead of time because cell service gets spotty out here. That remoteness is the whole appeal though.
Bluegill Honey Hole
The panfishing here is legit — fat 9-inch-plus bluegills are common if you know what you're doing. Word has gotten out more in recent years, so you're not the only one who knows anymore. Weekday trips are way more productive and peaceful.
Single Lane, Low Pressure
One lane means you're waiting if somebody's fumbling with their trailer, but honestly the lake doesn't see heavy motorized traffic. It's more of a small-boat and kayak kind of spot. Don't bring anything big — this lake and this launch aren't built for it.
