Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Zero Trailer Parking
There are no designated trailer spots here. If you're trailering a boat, you're going to be improvising with grassy shoulders or blocking traffic. This is really a kayak and canoe drop-in, not a powerboat launch.
Kayak Launch Only
Despite having two lanes on paper, this is a park first and a launch second. The river access works great for kayaks, canoes, and tubes — there's even a livery right across the street. Don't show up expecting to put a 18-foot bass boat in the water.
Stumps Along South Bank
They added stumps along the south side of the river bank, which makes it nearly impossible to land a fish on that side. If you're wading or fishing from shore, stick to the north bank or you'll be fighting structure you can't see.
Campground Confusion
The park and campground share the same space with no clear boundaries. If you're just coming to launch, the layout can be confusing — you might end up driving through campsites before you find the river access. Look for the day-use area near the water and don't wander into the campground loop.
