Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Weed Growth Warning
By mid-summer the lake gets seriously choked with weeds, especially in the shallower bays. If you're running an outboard, keep an eye on your intake. Kayaks and pontoons handle it better than anything with a prop in the water.
Tiny But Functional
One lane and five trailer spots — that's the whole operation. On a quiet weekday you'll have no issues, but a sunny Saturday in July means somebody's waiting. Get there early or be ready to get creative with parking along the shoulder.
Connected Lakes Are The Draw
Channels link Pretty Lake to a couple of neighboring lakes, so you can paddle or pontoon your way through all three and make a full day of it. That's the real reason to launch here instead of somewhere else in Luce County.
Solid Walleye Spot
Don't let the small size fool you — the walleye fishing is legit. Ice fishing produces too, so this launch earns its keep year-round if the road is plowed. It's a quiet, uncrowded fishery that the tourist crowds skip right over.
