Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Gravel Ramp Only
Single gravel lane — it's functional but don't expect anything fancy. Fine for smaller boats and Jon boats, but I wouldn't try muscling anything over 18 feet down it. The dock helps with loading, and that's about all the infrastructure you get.
Tiny Lot Fills Fast
Seven trailer spots is all you've got. On a summer Saturday morning, you need to be there early or you're out of luck. There's no real overflow area, so if you show up at 10am on a nice weekend, plan on getting creative or turning around.
Small Lake, Big Quiet
73 acres with a 50-foot hole — this is a legit fishing lake, not a recreation circus. No jet ski crowd, very little boat traffic most days. If you want solitude and panfish, this is the kind of spot you keep to yourself.
Don't Confuse The Two
There's another Townline Lake over in Montcalm County near Lakeview. If you're plugging it into GPS, make sure you're heading toward Mecosta County near Big Rapids, or you'll end up at the wrong lake entirely. It's a common mix-up.
Ice Season Favorite
That 50-foot max depth keeps things interesting in winter. This lake gets steady ice fishing pressure once things freeze up — easy access from the ramp area to drag a shanty out. Bluegill and perch are the main draw through the ice.
