Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Small But Functional
One lane, ten trailer spots — that's all you get. For a quiet Upper Peninsula lake this size, it's usually enough, but if you show up during the 4th of July celebration or the January ice fishing derby, you'll be fighting for a spot.
Geese Are A Problem
The Canada geese have pretty much claimed the shoreline near the launch. Later in summer especially, there's a lot of droppings on the ramp area and the swim beach. Watch where you step and give your trailer a rinse after.
Ice Fishing Derby Scene
Mid-January brings out the ice fishing crowd for the annual derby. The Sportsman's Club right next to the lake opens up so you can warm up and grab food. It's a good time, but parking gets tight — come early or plan to walk a bit from the road.
Great Kids Lake
Hermansville Lake is shallow and calm enough that it's one of the best spots in Menominee County for getting kids on the water. Don't expect big boat action — this is a small lake suited to panfish, small bass rigs, and kayaks. If you're towing anything over 18 feet, you're probably overthinking it.
