Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Spring Flooding
The ramp area floods in spring, sometimes partially submerged into May. It's still usable but expect to get your feet wet and maybe lose sight of the ramp edge. Water levels settle down by mid-June typically.
Shipyard Views
Fincantieri Marinette Marine is right across the river — you'll see Navy combat ship hulls parked over there, and occasionally catch a vessel launch. It's genuinely cool, but gawkers sometimes clog the lot on launch days, so heads up.
Fish Cleaning Station
One of the few launches around here with a proper fish cleaning station right on site. The perch fishing off the launch itself is surprisingly good — don't be shocked if you limit out without even getting on the water.
Parking Fills Fast
35 trailer spots sounds decent until a summer Saturday morning hits. By 7 AM on walleye opener or peak perch runs, you're scrambling. There's a little shoulder area nearby but nothing official for overflow.
Porta Potty Reality
The $3 launch fee is fair for four lanes, but don't expect much from the bathroom situation — it's a porta potty that gets rough by midsummer. The fish cleaning station is kept up better than the restroom, which tells you the priorities here.
