Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Shallow Water Warning
This ramp gets shallow fast. If you're running anything with real draft, you'll be grinding before you clear the end of the dock. Smaller boats, kayaks, and Jon boats are fine — leave the big walleye rig at home and head to the county park instead.
Tricky Turn-In
The approach has an odd angle to it. Not a dealbreaker, but if you're towing a longer trailer, take it slow on the turn or you'll be doing a three-point correction while someone waits behind you.
Dock Is Short
The dock they put in is appreciated but undersized. Tying off a 20-footer while you park the trailer is awkward — you're basically hanging off the end. The concrete has also developed some large cracks and uneven spots, so watch your footing.
Ice Season Gem
In winter this place really shines. The county plows the lot and clears a path out onto the ice, and the restrooms stay open, heated, with flushing toilets. Great staging area for ice fishing without fighting the crowds at the main park.
Parking Is Tight
There's no dedicated trailer parking to speak of. On a summer weekend you'll be jockeying for space with everyone else. If you show up after mid-morning on a Saturday, you're probably out of luck. The county park has more room if this lot is full.
