Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Rough Road In
The access drive is rutted and full of potholes — it'll rattle your trailer something fierce. Needs grading badly, especially by midsummer. Take it slow or you'll be picking up whatever shook loose.
Parking Gets Tight
Only 15 trailer spots and the drive bisects the site, so it feels even smaller than it is. People park in the turnaround area, which blocks your ability to maneuver. On weekends you'll want to arrive early or plan to get creative.
Single Lane Bottleneck
One lane means you're waiting if somebody ahead of you is slow on the load-out. The ramp itself is solid concrete and in good shape, but holiday weekends on a popular lake with one lane — do the math. Weekday mornings are a different story entirely.
Easy To Miss
The road sign for the launch is small and easy to blow past, especially if you're coming from the south. Look for the Clifford Lake store as your landmark — the access is right behind it.
Beats Dickerson Lake
If you're debating between this and the Dickerson Lake launch nearby, come here. Better ramp surface, better dock system, and Clifford Lake itself is a nicer experience. Plus you can run over to the Clifford Lake Inn by boat for lunch, which is worth the trip alone.
