Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Weekend Parking Crunch
On nice summer weekends, the 47 trailer spots fill fast — often by mid-morning. If you roll in after 10 AM on a Saturday, you may get turned away entirely. They do ticket for parking outside marked spaces, so don't get creative. There's overflow across the street, but that fills too. Weekdays are a completely different experience.
Steep Concrete Ramp
The ramp is all concrete and noticeably steep. If you're launching a lightweight aluminum boat off the truck bed instead of a trailer, that concrete will chew up your hull. Works fine for trailered boats, but the grade means you want good brakes and a spotter backing down.
No Courtesy Dock Tie-Off
There's no designated spot to temporarily tie off your boat while you go park the trailer. You'll need a second person to hold the boat at the dock, or you're doing the awkward sprint back from the lot. On a busy day with people queuing behind you, that becomes a real headache.
Three Tight Lanes
Three launch lanes with docks, which sounds generous until a summer Saturday crowd shows up. The lanes feel narrow when all three are in use simultaneously — maneuvering a wider pontoon in there while the neighboring lane is loading gets tight. Early mornings or weekdays, it's a breeze.
Outhouse Situation
There's a vault toilet on-site, but bring your own TP and keep expectations low. People trash it regularly. It's wheelchair accessible at least, but the maintenance doesn't keep up with the weekend crowds.
