Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Ruts and Soft Gravel
The ramp surface is soft gravel with some nasty ruts carved into it. If you're running a 2WD truck, you might spin your tires trying to pull out, especially when it's wet. 4WD is a real advantage here.
Tiny Parking Lot
Four trailer spots is all you get. Show up on a summer weekend after 9 AM and you're probably out of luck. There's no real overflow area, so plan accordingly or come early.
No Dock
There's no dock at all, so you're launching and loading solo the hard way. Bring a buddy or be comfortable wading in to guide the boat onto the trailer.
Locals Run Territorial
The lake residents can be weirdly protective of the water. I've seen kayakers and casual paddlers get the stink-eye or even confronted. You have every right to be there — just know the vibe isn't exactly welcoming.
Good for Skiing, So-So Fishing
Decent-sized lake for waterskiing and tubing if that's your thing. Fishing is average at best — don't come out here expecting a honey hole. It's more of a recreation lake than a fishing destination.
