Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Tiny Lot, Plan Ahead
Three trailer spots is all you get. If there's a fishing tournament running — and they happen here more than you'd expect for a lake this size — you're parking on the shoulder or turning around. Get there early on tournament days or don't bother.
Single Lane Bottleneck
One lane means you're waiting if someone ahead of you is fumbling with their trailer. During tournaments, the launch-and-retrieve cycle can back things up fast. Mid-week is your best bet for a stress-free launch.
Quiet Gem Otherwise
Outside of tournament weekends, this place is practically yours. It's a small Montcalm County lake that doesn't draw big crowds, so weekday mornings you'll likely have the ramp and the lake to yourself. Perfect for a 14-footer and a cooler of panfish.
State Park Admin, Local Feel
Administered by Newaygo State Park, but don't expect state park-level amenities out here. It's a bare-bones access point — ramp and a handful of spots. No restrooms, no dock, no frills. Functional, not fancy.
