Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Barely A Launch
This is more of a swim spot that happens to have water access than an actual boat launch. The "ramp" is user-created, so don't expect concrete or any real infrastructure. Fine for dropping a canoe or kayak, but I wouldn't try backing a trailer down here with anything bigger than a small johnboat.
Five Spots, Period
With only 5 trailer spots and a single lane, this place is maxed out fast if even two other people show up. On a summer Saturday you could easily find yourself with nowhere to park. It's not really built for trailer traffic — think of it as a carry-in spot that tolerates trailers.
Don't Expect Much Signage
Despite being administered by Clear Lake State Park, this access point doesn't get much love or attention from the DNR. Finding it the first time can be a bit of an adventure — look for it off the smaller roads near Crooked Creek and trust your GPS more than any posted signs.
