Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Extremely Tight Setup
One lane, one trailer spot — that's it. If someone's already parked with a trailer, you're basically waiting or improvising. Best to come early or on a weekday if you want a hassle-free launch.
Shallow and Weedy
The lake gets very shallow near the ramp, especially by mid-summer, with thick weed growth that can foul your prop. A kayak or small jon boat is ideal here — anything with real draft is going to struggle.
Remote but Worth It
This is a deep-woods spot off the beaten path in Montmorency County, connected to Clear Lake State Park. Don't expect amenities or signage holding your hand. The tradeoff is genuine quiet and solid panfish — bluegills and bass are the main draw.
Trash Can Be an Issue
There's no regular cleanup crew out here, and people leave garbage behind more often than they should. The ramp area and surrounding shore can get cluttered, so don't be surprised if you're stepping around someone else's mess.
