Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Small Boats Only
This is a little lake that suits jon boats, canoes, and small inflatables. Don't bother dragging anything big up here — the single lane and tiny 4-spot lot tell you everything you need to know about the scale of this place.
Signage Is Backwards
The traffic flow signs at the launch are set up in a way that makes zero sense when you're actually trying to back a trailer in. First time there, just ignore the arrows and use common sense — you'll figure it out faster than trying to follow them.
Snapping Turtle Territory
This lake is absolutely loaded with snapping turtles. Great for fishing largemouth bass, pike, and crappie, but I wouldn't be wading around or letting kids swim here. It's a fishing lake, plain and simple.
Island Camping Bonus
There's a small island out on the lake you can pull up to and camp on. Makes for a cool overnight trip with a canoe or small boat — catch bass and pike all evening without fighting anyone for space.
Parking Fills Instantly
Four trailer spots. That's it. If even two other rigs are there, you're basically done. Come early on weekends or you'll be improvising. Being administered by Clear Lake State Park doesn't mean it gets state park-level infrastructure.
