Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Swimmer Conflicts
This tiny launch doubles as a swimming hole for locals and campers from Clear Lake State Park. Don't be surprised if you have to ask people to move their cars and towels before you can back a trailer down. Weekends in July and August are the worst for this.
Very Small Water
Lake Fifteen is only about 4 acres with a max depth around 12 feet. This is small-boat-only territory — canoes, kayaks, or a little jon boat. Anything bigger and you'll feel like you're doing laps in a swimming pool.
Parking Fills Fast
Six trailer spots is all you get, and when a couple of those are taken by beachgoers' cars instead of trailers, you're effectively down to three or four. Get there early or have a plan B.
Single Lane Bottleneck
One lane with people treating the ramp area like a beach means launching can turn into a whole production. Mid-week mornings are your best bet for a clean, hassle-free launch.
