Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Tight Turn Landing
If you're coming off the river to take out here, the approach angle is tight — especially with a longer canoe or tandem kayak. Doable, but scout it on foot first so you know exactly where to aim.
Parking Fills Fast
Only 10 trailer spots, and on summer weekends the tubing crowd hits early. Get there by 9 AM on Saturdays or you'll be improvising. Weekdays and early mornings are a different story — practically empty.
Great Float Staging
This is a popular put-in for tubing and a mellow one-hour paddle down to Anderson's Flats. The ramp is gentle and the current is friendly, so it's ideal for groups rigging up inflatables without holding up boat traffic.
Low-Key Gem Downtown
It's right in downtown Newaygo but feels tucked away — not widely known, so it stays quiet compared to busier Muskegon River launches. There's a bathroom on-site and trails heading south along the river that are worth a walk if you're waiting on your group.
