Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Erosion Is Real
The ramp has noticeable erosion — the edges are crumbling and the transition into the water can surprise you if you're not paying attention. Take it slow backing down and watch your trailer tires near the sides.
Tiny Lot Fills Fast
Six trailer spots in a small dirt lot. That's it. On a Saturday morning in summer, you're either there by 7 AM or you're improvising. There's a park with baseball diamonds across the road, but don't count on using that overflow — it's not really set up for trailers.
Small Boats Only
This is a one-lane dirt slipway on a modest lake. Perfect for kayaks, canoes, and jon boats. If you're trying to put a 20-footer in here, you're going to have a bad time — the approach is tight and there's no real maneuvering room.
Underrated Bass Lake
Crescent Lake is loaded with bass and bluegill. It's quiet, doesn't get hammered with ski boats, and the small launch actually works in your favor — keeps the pressure low. Great spot to take a kid out for panfish without the circus of bigger Oakland County lakes.
