Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Behind The Cops
The launch is tucked behind the Village Police Department off Glengary Rd — turn at Municipal Rd. If you don't know it's there, you'll drive right past it. The police also dock their patrol boat at this launch, so expect enforcement on the water.
Parking Headaches
Only 15 trailer spots on a gravel lot, and people without trailers love to take up full spaces. Others park crooked, which eats up even more room. On weekends you need to be early — 6 AM early. Weekdays you'll practically have the place to yourself.
No-Wake Window Matters
There's a no-wake restriction before 11 AM, which is actually a blessing if you're fishing. After that, especially on summer weekends, it turns into a nonstop pontoon parade that doesn't quit until well past dark. Fall and early spring are prime fishing windows when the recreational traffic dies off.
Ramp Is Decent Now
They redid the ramp and it's paved with two lanes, which is a big improvement over what it used to be. There's a dock that lets two boats stage at once. The gravel parking lot is the weak link — every other launch in the area has paved parking, and this one still kicks up dust on your truck.
Shallow Lake, Few Holes
Wolverine Lake is clean but mostly shallow — only a handful of deeper holes worth targeting. The smallish size means thicker ice in winter, which makes it a solid ice fishing spot. Largemouth hit squarebills and shallow cranks in the 2-6 foot range during the warm months.
