Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Tiny Launch, Tiny Lot
Two trailer spots — that's it. If someone's already there with a trailer, you're basically waiting in the road or finding a creative place to tuck off to the side. Get there early on weekends or plan a weekday trip.
Small Lake Charm
This is a quiet little lake inside Rifle River State Recreation Area. You're not bringing a big boat here — think 14-foot aluminum, canoe, or kayak. It's a small-water experience, and that's the whole appeal. If you want elbow room on the water, you'll have it most days.
Ramp Is Basic
Single lane, nothing fancy. It handles light boats fine, but don't expect a well-maintained concrete pad. Take a look before you back down, especially later in the season when silt and debris can creep in.
Worth It For Solitude
Compared to the bigger Rifle River launches nearby, Bush Lake barely gets any pressure. If the main recreation area spots are packed on a summer Saturday, this is the kind of place where you can still fish in peace. Just don't expect amenities beyond a seasonal porta potty.
