Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Paddle-Only Paradise
No gas or electric motors allowed, period. This means glass-calm water almost every time you show up — perfect for kayaks and canoes. You can see fish cruising beneath you in the clear water.
No Trailer Parking
There are zero dedicated trailer spots here, so don't roll up with a big rig expecting to stage. This is really a carry-in launch — grab your kayak or canoe off the roof and walk it down.
Fishing Is So-So
You'll see plenty of fish swimming around, but don't come here expecting a big haul. It's a small, pretty lake better suited for a quiet morning paddle than a serious fishing trip.
Campground Combo
Being inside Rifle River State Recreation Area is the real draw. Camp at one of the nearby sites and paddle Jewett as a day trip — it's a short, scenic loop rather than a destination you'd drive hours for on its own. You'll need a Rec Passport to get through the gate.
