Lake George is part of the Rifle River watershed in Ogemaw County. The surrounding area drains into the Rifle River system, which ultimately flows east to Saginaw Bay on Lake Huron.
Winter & Ice Safety
Lake George freezes reliably in winter and supports ice fishing. Panfish are the primary target through the ice. As always, check local conditions and ice thickness before heading out — early and late season ice can be variable.
