Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Ramp Handles Big Boats
Two lanes with a solid surface that'll handle just about any inland boat you'd bring up here. If you're trailering something over 30 feet with a deep draft, call ahead to the Lodge — but realistically, most folks on Gogebic are running 16-22 footers and you won't think twice.
Parking Rarely An Issue
22 trailer spots and the lot almost never fills up. Even on peak summer weekends, this lake is remote enough that you're not fighting the downstate crowds. You might share the ramp with a handful of walleye guys at dawn, but that's about it.
Walk To Food After
Antonio's restaurant is an easy walk from the dock — 36 flavors of ice cream if you've got kids in tow. There's also a playground right on site, so it's a good spot to kill time while someone's running the boat back to the trailer.
Fall Is Worth The Drive
Lake Gogebic sits inside the Ottawa National Forest, and in late September through mid-October the color surrounding this launch is unreal. The biggest natural inland lake in the UP framed by peak fall hardwoods — bring a camera even if you're just pulling the boat for the season.
