Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
No Real Ramp
There's no improved ramp here — no concrete, no lanes, no trailer parking. This is strictly a carry-in spot for canoes, kayaks, or small inflatables you can drag down the bank.
Trout Water Worth It
The Middle Branch is a solid cold-water tributary of the Muskegon with trout still running through. It's a smaller river, so you're fishing from a kayak or wading — don't expect to fit anything with a motor.
Access Is Primitive
Think two-track pull-off and a worn path to the water. You'll want to scout the bank before committing — conditions change with the season, and spring high water can make the put-in muddy and slick.
Low-Pressure Fishing
Almost nobody else is here. If you want solitude on a northern Michigan trout stream without fighting for elbow room, this is the kind of spot you keep to yourself. Don't expect amenities — bring everything you need.
