Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Soft Sand Ramp
This is not a hard-surface ramp — it's soft sand, and they're not kidding about needing 4WD. I've seen guys in 2WD trucks dig in halfway down and need a pull out. If you're launching anything heavier than a kayak or a small jon boat, air down your tires and bring a buddy.
Tiny Parking Area
Three trailer spots is all you get, and that fills fast on summer weekends. If someone's already parked poorly, you might be down to two usable spots. There's no real overflow — once it's full, you're out of luck.
Small Lake, Small Boats
This is a kayak-and-canoe kind of lake. Crystal clear water, gorgeous Caribbean-blue color, and an island worth paddling out to. Don't bother dragging a big bass boat here — the lake is compact and mostly ringed by private property.
Fee Pipe On Site
There's a self-registration station with a fee pipe, so bring cash and an envelope. Easy to miss if you're in a hurry, but it's state park administered and they do check.
