Ramp Quirks & Etiquette
Shallow Lake Warning
Most of the lake runs only 6 to 10 feet deep with one deeper hole around 28 feet. If you're running a bigger boat, keep your eyes on the depth finder — it gets thin fast outside the main basin.
Tiny Parking Lot
Eight trailer spots is all you get. On summer weekends, especially Saturday mornings, you'll find it full by 8 AM. There's no real overflow area, so plan on arriving early or going midweek.
Single Lane Patience
One lane means you're taking turns. It's usually fine on weekdays, but holiday weekends can stack up three or four rigs waiting. Be ready to launch quick and pull your trailer out so the next guy can get in.
Walleye & Panfish Spot
This is a walleye and panfish lake, not a bass tournament destination. The walleye can be finicky — work that deeper hole and troll the transitions. Perch and bluegill are more cooperative and keep things interesting when the walleye aren't cooperating.
Clear Water, No Weeds
The water clarity here is outstanding and the lake is remarkably weed-free compared to most Otsego County lakes. Great for swimming off the boat between fishing spots, and you won't be cleaning gunk off your prop every five minutes.
