Only 6 Trailer Spots
With just one lane and six trailer spots, this place fills fast on summer weekends. If you're trailering anything bigger than a small fishing boat, get here early — by 8 AM on a Saturday you could be out of luck.
Overnight Access Gone
For decades this was a reliable overnight fishing spot on the Grand, but Ottawa County now enforces posted hours — 7 AM to 10 PM in season, 7 AM to 8 PM the rest of the year. Don't plan on night fishing here anymore.
Great Kayak Launch
There's an ADA-accessible carry-down launch with a floating dock that makes getting a kayak or canoe in dead simple. If you're paddling rather than trailering, this is honestly one of the better put-ins on this stretch of the Grand.
Confusing First Visit
The park entrance can be disorienting — Google Maps may drop you at the boat launch side rather than the main park area. The Lansing Boat Club is right there too, so it doesn't immediately look like a public launch. Once you know the layout it's fine, but your first trip expect a minute of figuring out where you're going.
Flooding & Mud Seasonal
The river-side trails and areas near the ramp can flood after heavy rain, especially in spring. The access area itself stays usable, but don't be surprised if the surrounding ground is a swamp after a good downpour. Late fall and early spring are the worst for it.
